Over 90 years of archery tradition, conservation, and community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Formed in 1933, the Lancaster Archery Club is one of the oldest archery clubs in the United States. Originally operating out of Williamson Park — now Lancaster County Park — the club has grown into a cornerstone of Mid-Atlantic archery over the past nine decades.
Our history runs deep in Pennsylvania outdoor tradition. Founding conservationist member Clayton Shenk was instrumental in convincing the Pennsylvania Game Commission to allow archery equipment and establish the state’s first Fall Archery Hunting Season for deer in 1953 — a milestone that shaped hunting across the Commonwealth for generations.
Among our distinguished past members, Robert H. Kaufhold captured Eastern and Pennsylvania State Championships in the 1950s and ’60s, cementing LAC’s reputation as a club that breeds champions.
